For a fresh home, ventilate and clean before adding scent
Scent is not cleaning or disinfection. A real room reset removes the source, completes practical cleaning, and supports airflow. Add a low-intensity scent only at the end if desired.

Step one: remove the source
Take out waste, clean cooking residue, organize damp items, or address the actual source in the room.
Step two: ventilate and clean
Open a window and complete necessary cleaning. If disinfection is required, follow the applicable product label rather than substituting essential oil.
Step three: add scent lightly
After the reset, follow the room product or device directions for placement, duration, and intensity. Ask others sharing the space first.
Put cleaning, airflow, and scent in the right order.

A Three-Minute After-Work Scent Ritual
This ritual does not promise instant relaxation. It creates a clear boundary between work and home with three actions: set things down, give the room air, and use scent only as the finished product directs.
